Piano Lessons – NEW!
Fee: $100(R) / $110(NR) for 4 lessons; $25-$30 materials fee due at first class

Are you interested in learning to play the piano? We are offering piano lessons to all ages beginning at 4.5 years old and up! Lessons are 30 minutes long and consist of time spent on technique, theory, note reading and more as the student progresses. Monica enjoys tailoring the time and lessons to the student’s needs and desires while making music learning, fun and enjoyable.

Beginning Sign Language
Fee: $40(R) / $44(NR)
Time: 6PM – 7:30PM
Tuesdays: 6/12 – 7/24, 6 weeks
Location: Carmichael Park, Veterans Hall: North Room

Students learn basic, common etiquette signs and everyday signs to communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing. Upon completion, students will have basic skills and can take future classes.

First Aid & Adult, Child & Infant CPR
Fee: $55(R) / $61(NR); $25 lab fee payable to instructor at class
Time: 8:30AM – 5:30PM
Saturdays: 7/21, 8/11, 9/1 & 9/15

This 8-hour class is a basic training course in emergency care for infants and children. There are also adult essential skills included along with AED training. This class meets State EMSA and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Child Care Provider Requirements. Certifications are good for two years.

Estate Planning Classes

Are trusts just for the wealthy? Do I really need to have a will? Attorney Doug Spletter is a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law with over 20 years of experience. Doug will explain how you can transfer wealth from one generation to the next and minimize attorneys’ fees and taxes upon death.

Introduction To Guitar-Part 1

The Sacramento Guitar Society is offering this 6-week introductory class, teaching students tuning, playing position, musical symbols, notes in first position, rhythms through eighth notes, chords, reading, scales, finger picking, strumming and simple repertoire.

Students must have a guitar (nylon string acoustic guitars are recommended to facilitate the fingerpicking lessons). The Sacramento Guitar Society will offer a loaner guitar, with a refundable security deposit of $100.

Introduction To Guitar-Part 2

The Sacramento Guitar Society is offering this 6-week introductory class, a continuation of the Part 1 class, reinforcing concepts taught and teaching additional songs. Students who already have a foundational knowledge of the basics of the instrument are welcome to enroll in this Part 2 class.

Summer Reading Program

The adult program, (Level 20) improves reading efficiency. To that end, eye-tracking exercises, retention techniques and
systematic analytical approaches are taught. All classes are at La Sierra Community Center in Room 800.

This class is open to everyone, with a primary focus on those affected by arthritis and neuropathy. Learn techniques to fight chronic pain and management. Dr. Baratta has helped thousands of patients in his 20 year career as a chiropractor and personal trainer.

Hoop Dance Happiness

Sweat, smile, move and groove in the modern evolution of the beloved children’s toy- the hula hoop! Learn how to get a great full-body toning and cardiovascular workout with a smile on your face. We bring handmade hoops for all ages and abilities to enjoy in each class. We will work on a variety of drills and skills to challenge every level of hooper, from beginner to advance.

Beginning Tap

This class  is the perfect introduction to beginners level tap dance choreography. This hour long class will consist of learning the basic steps of tap dance, including ball change, toe-heel combinations, flap ball change, shuffle ball change, buffalo and three point turns. Tap shoes required by week 2 of class.

Cardio Dance

Beginning Adult Tennis Lessons

Intermediate Adult Tennis Lessons

Tai Chi & Chi Gong

This class is for all adult ages and includes Chi Gong stretching, limbering and breathing exercises as well as a Tai Chi form based on “Yang Tai Chi” style movements. This class may help reduce risks of falling, improve balance and enhance overall health and mental well-being.
